Welcome to our FIRST member newsletter.

This newsletter is a new initiative and it has been long in the making.  We do apologise for the considerable delay and we hope you find the content useful.

It was the second half of 2024 when Trustees agreed we should make contact with our members. As you might recall, you have paid a one-off payment that registers you as a Lifetime Member of the Marlborough Community Vehicle Trust (MCVT).  This entitles you to book travel from within the Marlborough District to attend medical appointments in Nelson and Blenheim by simply calling our coordinator Ian Blowers on 03-5741311 or by replying to this email.

Currently we have more than 35 volunteer drivers and four modern vehicles that can take you to your medical appointment.  In the last three years the Trust has been very fortunate to receive significant funding from the Marlborough District Council, Lotteries New Zealand, the Rata Foundation and Marlborough Lines Ltd.  This funding has enabled the Trust to maintain very affordable fares and to update its small fleet of vehicles that now includes one electric and two hybrid cars. Long term sustainability and health and safety of our members and volunteer drivers are critical goals for the Trust.
