Conditions of Carriage
When you engage the transport services of the MCVT it is important that you are aware of the
following conditions:
- As we only transport registered members, you will be requested pay a one-off lifetime
membership fee (of $20) to be registered as a member in our database. - You are required to pay a fee to offset some of the return trip costs. The fee is set out on our
website: www.marlboroughvehicletrust.org.nz - Our drivers are all unpaid volunteers. Please treat them with respect.
- The driver’s role is to transport you to and from your medical appointments in a timely
manner. - Our vehicles are not equipped with lifesaving equipment other than basic first aid kits.
- Our drivers are not paramedics although some have first aid training.
- Should you suffer a medical event while being transported your driver will seek immediate
emergency assistance by dialing 111, and ensure you are comfortable until professional
assistance arrives. - Please inform your driver if you are feeling unwell when you get into the vehicle so that
he/she can make an informed decision about whether to wear a protective face mask. - You can be accompanied by a caregiver at no extra cost if that request is made at the time of
your booking. - The MCVT will transport children and young people under the age of 18 providing the
passenger is accompanied by a responsible adult caregiver. - If your appointment is cancelled or postponed, or should you decide not to travel at the
booked time we expect you to inform us in time to cancel the booking with the volunteer
driver. - If adverse weather conditions or road closures cause unexpected delays, we will work with
you to achieve a satisfactory resolution of the issue. - If you fail to comply with any of the above conditions the MCVT reserves the right to refuse
to transport you.
Please download and complete the acceptance form of our conditions and give to your driver on your first trip.
